Spytoff – Antidiarrhoeal Bolus

Description

Spytoff, an Anti Diarrhoeal bolus, a unique combination of Quiniodochlor, Furazolidone, Zinc, Kaolin and Atropine Sulphate. It is used in Acute diarrhea (specific and non-specific), Infectious diarrhea.

Spytoff inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme which controls DNA supercoiling as the replicating strands separate. Inhibition of gyrase results in degradation of chromosomal DNA at the replicating fork. Spytoff has a broad spectrum and bactericidal action.

Quiniodochlor

It is an intestinal Amoebicide. Kills the Trophozoites responsible for production of Protozoal Cysts.
Hydroxyquinolones are intestinal Amoebicide which exerts the anti amoebic action by directly killing the trophozoites responsible for production of cysts.
Furazolidone

Inhibits a number of enzyme systems in Bacteria. Blocks the initiation of Translation required for Protein Synthesis in Bacteria.
A nitrofuran derivative with antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity. Furazolidone binds bacterial DNA which leads to the gradual inhibition of monoamine oxidase.
Atropine sulphate

Reduces intestinal secretion leading to early recovery in diarrhoeal conditions.
This is commonly classified as an anticholinergic or antiparasympathetic (parasympatholytic) drug. More precisely, however, it is termed an antimuscarinic agent since it antagonizes the muscarine-like actions of acetylcholine and other choline esters.
Zinc

Cell growth and differentiation. Immune function. Intestinal transport of water and electrolytes.
Kaolin

Adsorbs toxic substances from the GI tract. Improves feces consistency.
Adsorbent and protectant. Kaolinis a natural hydrated aluminum silicate that is believed to adsorb large numbers of bacteria and toxins and to reduce water loss. Pectin is a polyuronic polymer for which the mechanism of action is unknown.
